Spotting during a physical workout is a skill.
There is not much to write about for those who have been lifting for years like me. We already know there are two types of useless, one type of perfect, one good way to decide who to ask the first time.
If a spotter talks about not knowing if they can help lift this and then hesitates when you're lifting, that's one type of useless. If a spotter talks to eager and then doesn't hesitate when you're lifting, that's the other type of useless.
People lifting for years know picking one of us is the one good way to decide who might be a perfect spot. Agreed?
If you're new to lifting and you think you need a spotter, lift less weights more reps until you know you need a spotter.
